These ancient sea creatures lived approximately 100 million years ago (with varying ages depending upon the species). What they left behind are their shells, which became fossilized over time. Ammonites have captured our hearts since the beginning, being revered by the Egyptians, representing their god Ammon (Amun), who took on the form of a ram with spiral horns. The word Ammonite comes from his name. These fossils are known for connecting us with the Earth, our ancestors, and past lives. Used for grounding, and at the same time, directing us on our highest paths. Throughout history they have been used as symbols of the unending cycles of time, giving us strength during difficult times. Holding an ammonite fossil gives us a very real and direct link to our past, helps us to connect with friends and loved ones who have crossed over and allows open communication.
